Appointed by D-PREP International School Bangkok in 2023 as a landscape design firm to design the new campus aiming to flourish the learning experiences into every place in school where student develop physically, socially, cognitively, emotionally and spiritually. Landscape Tectonix therefore developed the design concept from the school’s life skills framework then transformed into the physical design of learning spaces. 1. Reflect As private-focused space where individual study space is the key supporting each independence and self-esteem. 2. Gather As intimate social interaction with peer and small group of friend for discussion, presentation and studying. This space enhance social interaction, mentor support and develop widely for larger social interaction. 3. Collaborate As larger social interaction, this space promote communications, teamwork and leadership for both leading and supportive roles. 4. Explore As the goal in “continuous Learning”, this space fundamentally encourage to discover by doing things and aim to integrate informal learning across school. Therefore the seamless integration between indoor and outdoor space is well collaborated. Thanks to architectural design and space planning provided by the architect, landscape architect further elaborated “the learning journey” throughout the school. Inspired by the exploration into the nature, there are four hubs depicting the different physical characteristics and functions serving various groups of student in different period of time with flexibility in operation; A: Garden Gallery (Forest) B: Energetic Ground (Ridge) C: Nature Lab (Valley) D: Life Studio (Hilltop) Softscape design, as “Wellbeing” concept, is also one of the design strategy to enhance the school’s environment. Plant species are specifically selected to enhance living quality in the campus; air purification, oxygen generated, dust-trapping and shaded trees. Greenery is well thought and immaculately inserted as a vital component in school.
