สำหรับงานออกแบบแลนด์สเคปที่เริ่มต้นกับคำถามว่า เราจะทำอย่างไรกับพื้นที่สีเขียวในบริบทใจกลางเมืองแห่งนี้ เพราะกรุงเทพมหานครมีสัดส่วนของพื้นที่สีเขียวต่อจำนวนประชากรน้อยกว่าสัดส่วนมาตรฐานที่กำหนดไว้โดย WHO และพื้นที่ของเมืองที่ขาดการวางแผนเรื่องระบบพื้นที่สีเขียว

จนนำไปสู่แนวคิดการสร้างสวนขนาดเล็กในเมือง (Micro-Green Park) ที่มาพร้อมกับความเขียวชอุ่มและสมบูรณ์เพื่อสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่ดีของเมืองและยกระดับการอยู่อาศัยในเมืองเพื่อให้มนุษย์กับธรรมชาติได้มีปฏิสัมพันธ์กันรวมถึงรายละเอียดของการออกแบบที่เน้นความยั่งยืนทั้งการใช้วัสดุรีไซเคิลการพืชพรรณท้องถิ่น การเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียวและพื้นที่ซึมน้ำภายในเมือง

Bangkok, a capital city of Thailand, has less significantly green areas with lower ratio of green areas per capita than the minimum standard suggested by WHO (World Health Organization) which requires 9 square meters per person.

In the advent of the city’s rapid urbanization, the grey infrastructure has been prioritized over green infrastructure. Even though there are 40 main parks spanning a total area of 41 millions square meters throughout the city but the recent study found that Bangkok residents need to travel approximately 4.5 kilometers to the nearest park which WHO recommended to be in walkable distance of 300-500 meters only.

Dior Gold House is the first pop-up concept store of Christian Dior in Bangkok that combines Art, Lifestyle and Fashion featuring a Cafe’ and garden.

Its garden, approximately 1 Rai (1,600 square meters), illustrates the concept of “Micro-Green Park” as an urban’s retreat among the hustle and bustle of Bangkok’s CBD. The garden is relatively small yet lush with multi-layerings greenery creating a place where human interacts with nature.

Various shades of green, unexpected diffuse sunlight and shade, pleasant ambience of micro-climate in tropical climate and a place where you can find native flora & fauna, these design intent subtly evokes the dialogue between human and nature.

You can walk few steps from public pathway to this garden where you can pause yourself to take a deep breath, slow your pace and activate your human’s senses to the intimate touch of nature around you.
